We are pleased to report that the piece was working to order! We used some intricate programming to switch to a set of deeper more powerful colours each day at dusk and switching again at sunrise to a 'daytime' programme. It was quite gratifying to see that the switchover moment remained on cue +5years later. Within the tunnel native birdsong continues to intermittently play out from hidden speakers. In-ground solar powered lights still lead you from the tunnel to either end of the pathway.
The spot is still a tough one but the graffiti has been very minimal. The anti-vandal lighting surrounds that we designed have done their job well over these years. There is some wear and tear which is to be expected, but most importantly we were very pleased to witness a steady flow of families using the path to visit Brownies etc and to listen in to chats about the colours and birdsong as they passed through the underpass.
