Camberwell College of Art 120 Years Launch
A unique lighting scheme to celebrate the launch of a remodelled building
Camberwell College of Art approached us to design a scheme to mark the launch of their newly remodelled buildings. They wanted to bring the front of the building alive so we suggested that for one night only, we paint the building with a palette of light. On the top floor we used our complete stock of Encapsulite Sticklites, each window with a different colour of fluorescent light. Detail bricks were internally lit with a subtle colour change which created shadow and movement, balconies were flooded with intense magenta and step lights were gelled in Tokyo Blue. In the courtyards we video-mapped student works onto the shutters of the new Learning Zone. We gave Grayson Perry a small stage and the most beautiful amber lighting to match his coat. The grey Modernist facade of Camberwell College of Art came alive!
